Gonna' Hide Behind the Mountain
I'm gonna' hide behind the mountain.
I'm gonna' hide behind the mountain.
I'm gonna' hide behind the mountain.
Where the chilly winds don't blow.
You know Jesus is that mountain.
You know Jesus is that mountain.
You know Jesus is that mountain.
Where the chilly winds don't blow.
Let us hide behind the mountain.
Let us hide behind the mountain.
Let us hide behind the mountain.
Where the chilly winds don't blow.

Review of Lessons
Feb. 5, 2012
Sunday morning sermon title:
Luke 18:9-14
It is Easy to See Others Fall
Don't pump yourself up in pride because God will bring you down.
Don't look at other's faults so badly; take care of your own issues and stop pointing fingers.
Sometimes, you should put yourself in other people's circumstances; you might have done the same thing.
Let every man examine his own self. Be humble.
What can motivate us to do more to get to heaven?
Sunday evening sermon theme:
Leviticus (Levi means "attached" -- the chosen one)
Leviticus Study (ongoing)
Lev 24:5-16
1) The Bread (the aromatic 12 loaves)
2) The Table
The arrangement signifies that God's people were continually before him.
God always gives his people specific instructions. He wants to be in the midst of his people. God must be understood as an arriving and a continual presence.
A Breach: A woman's son was stoned due to blaspheming God.
Application:
1) There must be a collective response. (I Cor 5)
2) It ought to be a comparative punishment. (I Cor 5)
3) It must be conviction enough to carry it out. The response ought to be as it relates to the act or crime. (II Cor 2)
Sunday Morning Bible Study:
Matt 10:11-14
Evangelism: The Right Way
An evangelist is a person who spreads/teaches the gospel. Evangelism involves communication.
Communication:
1) Information transmission
2) Manipulative
3) Non-manipulative
When talking to someone about the gospel, do not be manipulative. Try to get on a common ground.
Sunday evening ladies Bible study:
TBD
Wednesday Evening Bible study:
Col.1 1-4
Grace: Unmerited favor
Greetings to the Colossians, saluting with grace and peace.
God gives us the grace to carry the good news/the gospel..
Things to remember when studying:
1) All words have a historical setting: people, places, events.
2) There is a grammatical setting/ concern.
3) The writers use their understand-ing of poetry, alliteration, etc.
4) The Bible is a book which has a divine purpose.-- intended to accom- plish God's will
5) The teacher must know the biblical concept: What is the writer's idea or intent?
6) A good teacher should develop a good thesis statement for their lessons.
Take a short TRIP in your life:
Trust in God (the Lord's will be done).
Recall the times that God has rescued you.
Identify your worries/fears and analyze them.
